Allow me to introduce myself.
My full name is Caitlin Michele Gonzales. I am currently 25years old and have been a freelance makeup artist for the past 10 years. I started around the age of 15 doing makeup for small gigs like parties and proms and then moved up to weddings. A few years later, I started working for Ulta. I worked as a general "beauty consultant" and then was promoted to the Prestige isle. For those who don't know Ulta's terminology, that means, I started working with name brand, expensive, amazing quality makeup. There I would spend my days doing little makeovers on females from the age of 18-50. It was a pretty good experience if you ask me. I loved my job, but working retail just wasn't for me really. I hated being pushy and asking people about magazine subscriptions and if they wanted to open up a card with us. But I'm quite grateful, as it opened my eyes to a lot more that was out there for me to do. After a year or two of working for Ulta, I decided to move out of state to where my oldest sister and her Fiance lived. The beautiful, green, damp, and gloomy state of Washington. I had just graduated High school and was planning on going to this makeup artistry school in Hollywood. I put a down payment for my tuition and had planned out my living situation with my cousins who already lived in California. Well, things didn't happen the way I planned, and I ended up staying in Washington. That was okay with me though, because one day my sister had taken me to the mall, up the street from where we lived and inside, was a Nordstroms, that had a MAC counter. I got bold and went straight up to the counter and asked one of them if they were hiring. A guy turned around and looked at me and my makeup and said, yes. He gave me instructions on what to do to get an interview. I did them and the following week I had it set up. After a month and 4 different interviews later, I was an Official MAC artist. I worked and grew there for about a year, learning so much, thanks to the amazing trainers and classes they offered. Once my 1 year anniversary approached, it just so happend that I became pregnant and I wanted to be with the family, so I decided to move back to Phoenix. When I moved back, my makeup artistry career went into shut down mode. This lasted about a year, and then I was right back at it, as if i had never stopped. Only this time, I started doing makeup for photo shoots and fashion shows, which I LOVED. This industry is one That I want to stay in, not only to keep doing what I love, but to also grow with the times and learn new techniques along the way. Within this blog, I want to share my ideas, my looks, and teach others what was taught to me. I hope you all enjoy! Thanks for reading a little bit of my history!
XoXo,
Camigo
